The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Surface Conditioning Belt measures 2" x 60" and features VFN grit aluminum oxide abrasive. These surface conditioning belts effectively remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. Available in a variety of widths and lengths, they are compatible with many industrial belt sanding tools used on both wood and metal surfaces. Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts come with a choice of silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide offers a sharp synthetic mineral suited for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, while aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral that delivers a high cut-rate and long life. The belts perform well on wide belt sanders for large wood panels, medium-width belts for edge or portable sanders used on cabinet doors and other wood pieces, and narrow belts for metalworking to access small areas or inside corners. Belt sanders equipped with these belts enable rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing across various surfaces without clogging due to the small grooves that open as the belt travels around the drive wheel. Typical applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, grain setting, stainless steel finishing, and straight-line brushed finishes, primarily within the metalworking industry.
