The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ SE surface conditioning belt measures 3" x 18" and is made from CRS grit aluminum oxide. It is constructed of resin-reinforced non-woven fiber, designed to resist loading and prevent under-cutting or gouging of the workpiece. This belt provides a high initial and extended rate of cut with superior edge durability and is suitable for low stretch applications. It includes a woven fabric (scrim) embedded in the nylon structure for added strength and durability, enabling effective edge work, deburring, and blending of all metal types. The non-woven material combined with aluminum oxide abrasive is ideal for finishing or burr removal. Aluminum oxide, a coarse grade used in this product, is a durable, self-fracturing abrasive that maintains cutting edges, delivering high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention. It is widely used in grinding, sanding, and finishing on diverse substrates, including ferrous alloys, suitable for woodworking and metalworking. The belt sander design prevents clogging by opening small grooves around the drive wheel arc, ensuring continuous sanding efficiency. Applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, finishing, and flat finishing. The product is designed for industrial use with dimensions of 3 inches by 18 inches, employing aluminum oxide grit on a resin-reinforced fiber backing for durability and performance.
