The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 4" x 168" and features A16 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with a resin structure designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining a fresh, sharp mineral cutting action that delivers consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt includes a grinding aid to prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, and is constructed on an X-weight durable cloth backing to provide control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. Its resin-bonded abrasive offers greater heat resistance and helps prevent delaminating. The belt uses a film media splice—a thin film-joining media bond that minimizes chatter marks, ensuring a smooth running belt and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasive products, proprietary Trisect™ abrasives produce finer finishes, achieve results faster, and last longer, starting sharp and staying sharp for more predictable finishes and improved quality. These belts can last up to five times longer than conventional discs and allow operators to reduce grade sequences, thus requiring fewer process steps and abrasive products. The abrasives have a three-dimensional structure uniformly distributed over the entire surface, ensuring consistent performance and eliminating disc-to-disc variation. Suitable applications include blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, finishing, flat finishing, refining, and stroke sanding.
