The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 4" x 90" and features A16 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with a resin structure formulated to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. It includes a grinding aid to help prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. Constructed on an X-weight, durable cloth backing, the belt offers control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin-bonded abrasive provides greater heat resistance and helps prevent delaminating. The belt ends are joined using a film media splice with a thin film-joining media that minimizes chatter marks, ensuring a smooth-running belt and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasives, 3M™ Trisect™ belts produce a finer finish, achieve results faster, last up to five times longer, start sharp and stay sharp for more predictable finishes, improved quality, and reduced grade sequences, requiring fewer process steps and abrasive products. The three-dimensional structures uniformly distributed over the entire abrasive surface ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation. The belt is suited for applications such as blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, finishing, flat finishing, refining, and stroke sanding, serving industries including builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
