The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 3/4" x 18" and features aluminum oxide A65 grit abrasive. It utilizes proprietary micro replication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into tiny pyramids and coated on an X-weight durable cloth backing. This design allows the abrasive pyramids to wear down in a way that continuously exposes fresh, sharp mineral for consistent cutting and a fine finish. The abrasive and resin structure is formulated to break down under medium pressure, maintaining sharpness for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt includes a grinding aid to prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, and the resin-bonded abrasive offers greater heat resistance and helps prevent delaminating. The belt is joined with a film media splice, a thin bonding film that minimizes chatter marks, ensuring smooth running and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasives, 3M™ Trisect™ belts provide a finer finish, faster results, and longer life—up to five times longer than traditional discs—enabling precise finish control that reduces grade sequences and process steps. The three-dimensional abrasive structure is uniformly distributed for consistent performance and eliminates disc-to-disc variation.
