The 3M™ Trisect™ Cloth Belt 407EA measures 2" x 72" and features an A90 grit silicon carbide abrasive designed for low to medium pressure applications. It has a flexible JE-weight backing that allows the belt to conform to surface contours and respond to surface imperfections, providing a superior finish. The abrasive incorporates a grinding aid that helps it run cool, minimizing the risk of discoloring or warping the substrate due to heat. Available in a range of grit grades from A110 to A20, the belt employs 3M's patented Micro Replication technology, which consists of pyramid-shaped three-dimensional structures containing layers of mineral that break down with use to continuously expose fresh abrasive. This mechanism maintains sharp cutting action, reducing the need for abrasive replacement and increasing throughput. The uniform mineral distribution ensures consistent, fixed contact for an even cut. The belt is suited for applications including blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, intermediate finishing, shaping metalworking, and is commonly used in industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
