The 3M™ Trizact™ cloth belt 407EA measures 3-1/2" x 15-1/2" and features A90 grit silicon carbide designed for low to medium pressure applications. It has a flexible JE-weight backing that allows the abrasive to conform to surface contours and imperfections for a superior finish. The abrasive incorporates a grinding aid to help it run cool, reducing the risk of discoloration or warping due to heat. Available in grades descending from A110 to A20, this belt uses patented Microreplication technology, where small three-dimensional pyramid structures containing layers of mineral break down with use to expose fresh mineral, sustaining sharpness over time. This technology ensures consistent cutting action and reduces the need for frequent abrasive changes, enhancing throughput and productivity. The mineral is uniformly distributed to provide fixed, consistent contact with the workpiece. The Trizact™ abrasives are suitable for applications involving coated and bonded substrates, used in industries such as manufacturing for medical implants, surgical tools, and automotive transmission components.
