The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 3-1/2" x 15-1/2" and features A160 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. Its abrasive and resin structure is formulated to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals like carbon and stainless steel. The belt includes a grinding aid to prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, constructed on an X-weight durable cloth backing for control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin-bonded abrasive offers greater heat resistance and helps prevent delaminating. A film media splice securely joins the belt ends with a thin film-joining media that minimizes chatter marks, ensuring smooth operation and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasives, the proprietary Trisect™ abrasives produce finer finishes, achieve results faster, and last longer—up to five times longer than conventional discs. These belts start sharp and stay sharp, providing predictable finishes and consistent quality, enabling operators to reduce grade sequences and process steps. The three-dimensional abrasive structures are uniformly distributed across the surface, ensuring consistent performance and eliminating disc-to-disc variation. Applications include blending, finishing, and polishing for industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
