The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 3-1/2" x 15-1/2" and features A100 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with a resin structure designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt includes a grinding aid to help prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. It is constructed on an X-weight durable cloth backing that provides control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding, while the resin bonded abrasive enhances heat resistance and prevents delaminating. The belt ends are joined using a film media splice, which is a thin film-joining media that minimizes chatter marks, ensuring smooth running and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasive products, proprietary Trisect™ abrasives produce finer finishes, achieve faster results, and last longer—up to five times longer than conventional discs—offering precise finish control that enables operators to reduce grade sequences and process steps. The three-dimensional structures are uniformly distributed over the abrasive surface to ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation. Applications include blending, finishing, and polishing, with use in industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
