The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 3-1/2" x 15-1/2" and features A45 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It is formulated with an abrasive and resin structure designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt includes a grinding aid to help prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. Constructed on an X-weight durable cloth backing, it provides control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin-bonded abrasive increases heat resistance and helps prevent delamination. The belt employs a film media splice, a thin film-joining media that securely bonds the belt ends, minimizing chatter marks and ensuring smooth operation with consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasive products, proprietary Trisect™ abrasives produce a finer finish, achieve results faster, and last longer, starting sharp and staying sharp for predictable finishes and improved consistent quality. These belts can last up to five times longer than conventional discs and allow operators to reduce grade sequences, minimizing processing steps and abrasive product usage. The three-dimensional structures uniformly distributed over the abrasive surface ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation. Typical applications include blending, finishing, and polishing across industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
