The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 1" x 42" and features A16 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with a resin structure designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. It includes a grinding aid that prevents heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. The belt is built on an X-weight durable cloth backing, providing control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding, while the resin-bonded abrasive enhances heat resistance and prevents delamination. A film media splice securely joins the belt ends with a thin film-joining media that reduces chatter marks and ensures smooth belt running and consistent finishing. Compared to conventional abrasives, proprietary Trisect™ abrasives deliver finer finishes, faster results, and longer life, lasting up to five times longer than conventional discs, enabling reduced grade sequences and fewer abrasive products. The three-dimensional abrasive structure is uniformly distributed across the surface, ensuring consistent performance and eliminating disc-to-disc variation. Applications include blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, finishing, flat finishing, refining, and stroke sanding, with use in industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
