The 3M™ TriSect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 3 inches by 132 inches and features A65 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. Its abrasive and resin structure is designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining a fresh, sharp mineral cutting edge that provides consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt includes a grinding aid to prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. Constructed on an X-weight, durable cloth backing, it offers control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin-bonded abrasive enhances heat resistance and helps prevent delaminating. The belt uses a film media splice, a thin film-joining media that securely bonds the belt ends, minimizing chatter marks and ensuring smooth running and consistent finishing. Compared to conventional abrasive products, proprietary TriSect™ abrasives produce a finer finish, last longer—up to five times the life of conventional discs—and achieve results faster, allowing reduction in grade sequences and fewer process steps. The three-dimensional structures are uniformly distributed across the abrasive surface, ensuring consistent performance and eliminating disc-to-disc variation. Applications include blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, finishing, flat finishing, refining, and stroke sanding.
