The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 2" x 132" and features A100 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with a resin bonded structure formulated to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. It includes a grinding aid to prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. The belt is constructed on an X-weight, durable cloth backing that provides control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. It uses a film media splice, a strong and secure bond joining the belt ends with a thin film-joining media that minimizes chatter marks and ensures smooth running and consistent finishing results. Proprietary Trisect™ abrasives produce a finer finish, achieve faster results, and last longer than conventional abrasives, with belts that stay sharp for up to five times longer and allow operators to reduce grade sequences, fewer process steps, and abrasive products. The three-dimensional abrasive structures are uniformly distributed for consistent performance and elimination of disc-to-disc variation. The belt is suitable for applications including blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, finishing, flat finishing, refining, and stroke sanding, and is used in industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
