The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 407EA measures 2" x 132" and features an A20 grit silicon carbide abrasive designed for low to medium pressure applications. It has a flexible JE-weight backing that conforms to surface contours and responds to imperfections for a superior finish. The abrasive includes a grinding aid to help it run cool, reducing the risk of discoloring or warping substrates due to heat. Available in grades descending from A110 to A20, the belt employs 3M™ Micro Replication technology, where small three-dimensional pyramid structures containing layers of mineral continually expose fresh mineral as they break down, sustaining sharpness and enabling ongoing sharp cutting action. This reduces abrasive replacement frequency, increases throughput, and ensures consistent cuts due to uniform mineral distribution. The belt is suited for applications such as blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, intermediate finishing, shaping metalworking, and metal fabrication, including medical implants, surgical tools, automotive transmission components, builders hardware, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
