The 3M™ TRISECT™ cloth belt 237AA measures 4" x 132" and features A45 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with a resin structure designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt includes a grinding aid to prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, and is constructed with an X-weight durable cloth backing that provides control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin bonded abrasive enhances heat resistance and helps prevent delaminating. A film media splice securely joins the belt ends with a thin film-joining media that minimizes chatter marks, ensuring smooth operation and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasives, proprietary TRISECT™ abrasives produce finer finishes, achieve faster results, and last longer, with belts that can last up to five times longer than conventional discs. These belts start sharp and stay sharp, allowing for more predictable finishes, improved quality, reduced grade sequences, fewer process steps, and fewer abrasive products. The abrasive's three-dimensional structures are uniformly distributed across the surface to ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation. The 3M™ TRISECT™ cloth belt is suited for applications including blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, finishing, flat finishing, refining, and stroke sanding, and is used in industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
