The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 1" x 60" and features VFN grit with aluminum oxide abrasive mineral, designed to remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit a wide range of belt sanding tools used on wood and metal, including wide belt sanders for large wood panels, medium-width belts for edge or portable belt sanders used on wood pieces such as cabinet doors, and narrow belts for metalworking file tools to access small areas or inside corners. The aluminum oxide mineral offers a hard, blocky structure that ensures high cut-rate and long life, while silicon carbide options provide a sharper mineral for low-pressure applications. The belts maintain efficiency by preventing clogging due to small grooves opening as they run around the drive wheel, making them suitable for rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing on multiple surfaces.
