The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 3/4" x 20 1/2" and features aluminum oxide VFN grit. This durable belt is engineered to perform detailed tasks such as blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving straight-line brushed finishes on various metals. It effectively removes coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. The abrasive belts come in multiple widths and lengths, suitable for various belt sanding tools on wood and metal. Scotch-Brite™ SC belts often fit wide belt sanders for large wood panels, medium-width belts for edge or portable sanders used in woodworking like cabinet doors, and narrow belts compatible with file tools for accessing small metalworking areas or inside corners. The belt is made with aluminum oxide, a hard, blocky mineral that provides a high cut rate and long life, suitable for higher pressure applications and delivering durability compared to silicon carbide, which produces a finer finish but breaks down faster.
