The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Surface Conditioning Belt measures 3/4" x 20 1/2" and features an aluminum oxide medium grit abrasive mineral designed for detail work including blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving straightline-brushed finishes on various metals. This durable belt effectively removes coarse grindlines, mill marks, and small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. Available in multiple widths and lengths, Scotch-Brite™ SC belts fit a range of industrial belt sanders: wide belts for large wood panel sanding and finishing, medium belts for edge or portable sanders on wood pieces like cabinet doors, and narrow belts for metalworking in small or inside corner areas. The belts are made with a choice of silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasives; silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral sharp enough for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, while aluminum oxide provides a higher cut rate and long life with a harder, blocky structure. Belt sanders using these belts are effective for rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing on various surfaces, as the abrasive belts resist clogging by opening small grooves while passing around drive wheels, maintaining efficiency compared to sanding wheels and discs. The product comes with a limited warranty ensuring performance in demanding industrial applications.
