The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 3/8" x 13" and features aluminum oxide VFN grit, designed for durable detail work including blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving straight-line brushed finishes on various metals. These belts effectively remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives and are available in a range of widths and lengths to fit different belt sanding tools for applications on wood and metal. The product is available with abrasives made from either silicon carbide, a very sharp synthetic mineral suited for low-pressure paint preparation and finishing, or aluminum oxide, a hard, blocky mineral that offers a high cut rate and long life. The aluminum oxide variant used in this belt provides durability and a balanced finish. Belt sanders using these belts are favored for rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing across multiple surface types, as the abrasive belt's small grooves open while passing around the drive wheel, preventing clogging.
