The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt 1" x 21" aluminum oxide medium grit is a durable belt designed for detailed work such as blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving straightline-brushed finishes on various metals. It effectively removes coarse grindlines, mill marks, and small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. The Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts come in multiple widths and lengths, suitable for different belt sanding tools and applications on wood and metal. They are available with either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide offers a sharper synthetic mineral ideal for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, while aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral that delivers a high cut rate and long life. Belt sanders equipped with these belts provide rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing without clogging, as the abrasive belts’ small grooves open during use. The belts measure 1 inch in width by 21 inches in length and feature medium grit aluminum oxide.
