The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 1" x 18-15/16" and features an aluminum oxide medium grit abrasive designed for detailed work including blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving straight-line brushed finishes on various metals. This durable belt effectively removes coarse grindlines, mill marks, and small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. Available in multiple widths and lengths, these belts fit most industrial belt sanders, from wide belt sanders used for large wood panels to medium-width belts for edge or portable sanders, and narrow belts for metalworking on small or hard-to-reach areas. The belts come with abrasive minerals of either silicon carbide, a sharp synthetic mineral suited for low-pressure tasks like paint preparation and finishing, or aluminum oxide, a hard, blocky mineral offering high cut-rate and long life. While silicon carbide provides a finer finish but breaks down faster, aluminum oxide balances durability and cutting performance.
