The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 1" x 30" with VFN grit and features aluminum oxide abrasive mineral. These Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts are designed to remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives, and are suitable for use on both wood and metal. The abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths to fit different belt sanding tools, including wide belt sanders for large wood panels, medium-width belts for edge or portable belt sanders used in woodworking such as cabinet doors, and narrow belts for metalworking with file tools to access small areas or inside corners. The aluminum oxide mineral is a hard, blocky substance that provides a high cut rate and long life, ideal for more aggressive sanding tasks. These belts are resilient against clogging due to their small grooves which open as the belt moves around the drive wheel, ensuring consistent sanding performance. Typical applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and producing straight-line brushed finishes.
