The 1-1/2 in. x 4-1/2 in. lead-free seamless red brass pipe nipple is rated for 140 psi and is constructed from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This type of brass nipple is easier to machine, less brittle to work with, and significantly more resistant to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. Brass provides good corrosion resistance against water and heat, and it can withstand attacks from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. It is primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but it is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
