It incorporates recessed female contacts with a finger recess to prevent accidental touching and provides clear terminal identification for ground, neutral, and phase, all color-coded by voltage to facilitate error-free matching. The ground termination is positioned higher to allow for cable slack, and solid brass pins ensure low contact resistance and high conductivity, contributing to long-lasting and reliable electrical connections. The split contact sleeve is equipped with nickel-plated steel springs to optimize insertion and withdrawal force while maintaining constant contact pressure, and it also offers a wiping action upon disconnection to remove oxidation from terminals. The device features double terminal screws across all amperage ratings and includes an internal swing-away strain relief. Ground connections are designed to mate first and break last, enhancing shock safety, while arc flash protection is guaranteed if the device is disconnected under load, with all pins being fully shielded.
