The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 4" x 36" and features P120 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by using a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is resin-bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure, making it suitable for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, and the belt incorporates a blend of aluminum oxide with ceramic grain for a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suited for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic abrasives are engineered to cut fast and withstand intense heat and stress, outperforming aluminum oxide abrasives in both cut rate and durability, making this belt ideal for surface preparation and moderate stock removal on stainless steel and exotic metal alloys. The belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit a broad range of industrial belt sanders, with wider belts used on wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels or smoothing metal sheet edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat narrow surfaces like panel edges, and narrow belts for portable sanders used to blend or sand wood pieces such as cabinet doors.
