The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 2" x 72" and features P120 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. It incorporates a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, with the abrasive bonded to the backing using resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The belt is recommended for use on stainless steel and other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. It employs proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain, a ceramic mineral enhancing toughness and hardness, combined with aluminum oxide to form a ceramic/aluminum oxide blend that surpasses traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability. This makes the belt suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal, surface preparation, and intense heat and stress applications. Available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, wider belts are suitable for wide belt sanders used in dimensioning or finishing wood panels, smoothing edges of metal sheets, or adding grain patterns to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts fit edge sanders for flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, while narrow belts suit portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors. The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F features a film splice, providing added strength for grinding in high pressure applications, with options available for greater flexibility, such as an L-Flex splice for increased conformity or a softer touch for finishing and blending.
