The 3M™ cloth belt 777F 4" x 36" 80 grit ceramic is designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by utilizing a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is resin-bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure, making it suitable for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings of stainless steel and other exotic metal alloys. It features a proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain that enhances toughness and hardness, blended with aluminum oxide for a harder, longer-lasting abrasive. This ceramic/aluminum oxide blend enables faster cutting and superior durability compared to aluminum oxide abrasives, making it ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation. The belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit a wide range of industrial belt sanders; wider belts are used with wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels, smoothing rough metal edges, or adding grain patterns to stainless steel, medium-width belts fit edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts fit portable sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces like cabinet doors. The 777F belts have a film splice that provides added strength for high-pressure grinding applications, with options such as l-flex splices offering increased flexibility and conformity for finishing and blending tasks.
