The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 2-1/2" x 60" and features an 80 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by reducing running temperatures with a grinding aid. The abrasive is resin-bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. It is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, especially on stainless steel or exotic metal alloys. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, and the belt incorporates an aluminum oxide blend for increased performance, offering a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal. This ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability. The belts are available in various widths and lengths for sanding wood and metal, fitting most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts suited for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and smooth metal sheet edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders to work flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders used in sanding or blending wood pieces like cabinet doors. The cloth belt 777F includes a film splice for added strength under high pressure grinding applications; when increased flexibility is necessary for conformity, softer finishing, or blending, an L-Flex splice option is recommended. The product is certified and compliant with relevant industrial standards, and dimensions were specified as 2-1/2" width and 60" length with 80 grit abrasive.
