The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 2" x 72" with an 80 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. It features a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, and the abrasive is resin-bonded to the backing for durability under high heat and pressure. This belt is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings made from stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, combining ceramic mineral with aluminum oxide to create a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suited for moderate to heavy stock removal. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend outperforms standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability, making it ideal for surface preparation and moderate stock removal. These abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths to accommodate sanding of wood and metal; wider belts are used with wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal sheet edges, medium-width belts fit edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts are designed for portable belt sanders used in blending or sanding wood pieces like cabinet doors. The cloth belt 777F includes a film splice for added strength during high-pressure grinding applications. Options include an L-Flex splice, which offers greater flexibility than the standard splice for increased conformity and a softer touch in finishing and blending tasks.
