The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 2" x 48" with 80 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by utilizing a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. It is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings made of stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, and the belt features a blend of aluminum oxide with 3M ceramic abrasive grain for a harder, longer-lasting abrasive, ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic/aluminum oxide blends surpass standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability and are engineered to cut fast while handling intense heat and stress. These abrasives are available in various widths and lengths suitable for sanding wood and metal surfaces and compatible with most industrial belt sanders, including wide belt sanders for wood panels and metal sheets, edge sanders for flat narrow surfaces, and portable belt sanders for woodworking applications like cabinet doors. The 3M™ cloth belt 777F includes a film splice for added strength in high-pressure grinding, and options for greater flexibility such as the L-flex splice provide more conformity or a softer touch for finishing and blending.
