The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 1" x 42" and features 80 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. It includes a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, with the abrasive bonded to the backing using resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The belt is recommended for use on stainless steel and exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. It incorporates proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain, which enhances toughness and hardness, and is blended with aluminum oxide for increased performance, resulting in a harder, longer-lasting abrasive ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic/aluminum oxide blend abrasives cut faster and withstand intense heat and stress better than aluminum oxide abrasives, making the 777F suitable for surface preparation as well. The belt is available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, including wide belts for wide belt sanders used on wood panels and metal sheets, medium widths for edge sanders on narrow flat surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders used on wood pieces like cabinet doors. The 3M™ cloth belt 777F features a film splice for added strength in high pressure grinding applications, and when more flexibility is needed for conformity or softer finishing, an L-Flex splice option provides greater flexibility than the standard film splice.
