The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Cloth Belt 984F measures 1" x 132" with a 60 grit precision shaped ceramic grain designed to continually fracture into super-sharp points and edges that slice cleanly through metal, resulting in a super-fast cut and less heat build-up on the workpiece. This reduces heat-related stress cracks and discoloration while maintaining a cooler, sharper abrasive that lasts significantly longer than conventional ceramic grain belts, thereby decreasing costs and belt changeovers. The belt features a YF-weight cloth backing for durability and resin bonding for reliable performance under high heat and pressure. It is heat resistant, produces a uniform finish across its lifespan, and helps eliminate burning during end-grain sanding applications. Utilizing proprietary technology, each triangular ceramic abrasive grain is electrostatically oriented to form sharp peaks that act like cutting tools and continuously self-sharpen as points break off, providing extended high performance in heavy-duty production. The grains wear evenly, offer extra-long life, consistent performance with less grinding pressure, and the product complies with industrial use standards.
