The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 3" x 168" and features 60 grit ceramic abrasive specifically designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. It incorporates a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, with the abrasive bonded to the backing using resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. This belt is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, particularly on stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, while the blend of aluminum oxide with the ceramic grain provides a harder, longer-lasting abrasive ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic abrasives are engineered to cut fast and withstand intense heat and stress applications, surpassing traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability. These cloth belts are available in various widths and lengths for sanding wood and metal, accommodating wide belt sanders, edge sanders, and portable belt sanders according to application needs. The belts come with different flexibilities and splice types; the 777F features a film splice for added strength in high-pressure grinding, while an L-flex option offers greater flexibility for conformity, finishing, or blending tasks.
