The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 6" x 60" and features 60 grit ceramic abrasive designed for use on heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. It includes a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, with the abrasive grain bonded to the backing by resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness through a ceramic mineral blend, combined with aluminum oxide for increased performance, making it suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability, ideal for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings of exotic metal alloys. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts used for wide belt sanders on wood panels or metal sheets, medium-width belts for edge sanders on panel edges, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders on wood pieces. The belts offer different flexibilities and splice options, with the 777F featuring a film splice for enhanced strength under high pressure grinding conditions, while the L-Flex option provides increased flexibility for better conformity and softer finishing or blending applications.
