The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 4" x 60" and features 60 grit ceramic abrasive, designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by incorporating a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is resin bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for use on stainless steel and other exotic metal alloys, this belt is ideal for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. It uses proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain, a ceramic mineral that enhances grain toughness and hardness, combined with aluminum oxide for a harder, longer-lasting abrasive capable of moderate to heavy stock removal. This ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making the 777F an excellent choice for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. Available in various widths and lengths, these belts accommodate sanding of both wood and metal, fitting wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal edges, edge sanders for flat, narrow surfaces, and portable belt sanders for blending wood pieces like cabinet doors. The belts feature different flexibilities and splices, with the 777F model using a film splice for added strength during high-pressure grinding applications. For increased flexibility or a softer touch suitable for finishing and blending, an L-Flex option is available, which provides more flexibility than the standard film splice.
