The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 3-1/2" x 15-1/2" and features 60 grit ceramic abrasive designed for heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. It incorporates a grinding aid to reduce running temperatures, with the abrasive bonded to a resin backing to ensure durability under high heat and pressure. This belt is suited for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings made of stainless steel or exotic metal alloys. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, blending aluminum oxide with ceramic grain for a harder, longer-lasting abrasive that excels in moderate to heavy stock removal, fast cutting, and handling intense heat and stress. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability, making this belt ideal for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. These abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths to suit sanding of both wood and metal on industrial belt sanders; wider belts are used for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal sheet edges, medium-width belts fit edge sanders for sanding narrow surfaces like panel edges, and narrow belts are suitable for portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors. The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F includes a film splice for added strength in high-pressure grinding applications, and the belts are available with variations in flexibility and splice types to meet different conformity and finishing needs.
