The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 2" x 60" and features a 60 grit ceramic abrasive designed for use on heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. It includes a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, and the abrasive grains are bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, with an aluminum oxide blend that delivers a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal, dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The ceramic/aluminum oxide combination surpasses standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making the belt ideal for surface preparation in intense heat and stress applications. These belts come in various widths and lengths to accommodate sanding both wood and metal, fitting most industrial belt sanders. Wider belts are used for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and smooth rough cut metal edges, while medium-width belts fit edge sanders for flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts are compatible with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending smaller wood pieces like cabinet doors. The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F includes a film splice for added strength during high pressure grinding applications, and options like the L-Flex splice are available where increased flexibility and softness are needed for finishing and blending tasks.
