The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 2" x 48" and features 60 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys. It includes a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, with the abrasive bonded to the backing using resin to ensure durability under high heat and pressure. This belt is recommended for use on stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, while the belt incorporates a ceramic/aluminum oxide blend that surpasses aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making it suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation. The belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts used for wide belt sanders on wood panels and metal sheets, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders on wood pieces like cabinet doors.
