The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 3" x 10 11/16" and features 60 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by reducing running temperatures through a grinding aid. The abrasive is bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. It is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings made of stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, and the belt features a blend of aluminum oxide with ceramic grain for a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal. Ceramic abrasives are engineered to cut fast and withstand intense heat and stress, with the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend offering superior cut-rate and durability compared to aluminum oxide abrasives, making the 777F ideal for surface preparation. The belts are available in various widths and lengths suitable for sanding wood and metal, accommodating wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal sheet edges, edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces like panel edges, and portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors. The belts have various flexibilites and splices; the 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F features a film splice for added strength in high-pressure grinding applications.
