The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 6" x 48" with a 40 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by reducing running temperatures through a grinding aid. The abrasive grain is bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure, making it suitable for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. It features a proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain, blended with aluminum oxide to enhance toughness, hardness, and longevity, enabling moderate to heavy stock removal while cutting fast under intense heat and stress. This ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making the belt an excellent choice for surface preparation and moderate stock removal. The belts are available in various widths and lengths to accommodate a range of industrial belt sanders for sanding both wood and metal, with wide belts for wide belt sanders, medium widths for edge sanders, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders. The 777F belts include a film splice for added strength in high-pressure grinding applications, while L-Flex options provide greater flexibility for increased conformity and a softer touch during finishing and blending.
