The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 1" x 42" with a 40 grit ceramic abrasive, designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by incorporating a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive grain is bonded to the cloth backing with resin, ensuring durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, it features proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain blended with aluminum oxide, enhancing toughness and hardness for a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend offers superior cut-rate and durability compared to standard aluminum oxide abrasives, making it ideal for surface preparation and moderate stock removal. The belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, including wide belts for wide belt sanders on wood panels and metal sheets, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable sanders used on wood pieces like cabinet doors. The belt includes a film splice for added strength in high-pressure grinding applications; for increased flexibility and conformity or softer finishing, an L-Flex splice option is available.
