The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 6" x 48" with a 36 grit ceramic abrasive that protects heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by using a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is resin-bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. This belt is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings made from stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys. It features proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain designed to enhance toughness and hardness, combined with aluminum oxide to create a ceramic/aluminum oxide blend that offers a harder, longer-lasting abrasive for moderate to heavy stock removal. The blend cuts faster and withstands intense heat and stress, surpassing standard aluminum oxide abrasives in both cut rate and durability. The belts come in various widths and lengths suitable for sanding wood and metal applications and are compatible with industrial belt sanders ranging from wide belt sanders for wood panels and metal sheets to narrow belts for portable belt sanders used in wood blending. The 777F belts include a film splice for added strength in high-pressure grinding applications, and options such as L-Flex splices provide greater flexibility for increased conformity or softer finishing and blending.
