The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F 3" x 132" 36 Grit Ceramic is designed to protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by incorporating a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is bonded to the backing with resin to ensure durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for use on stainless steel and other exotic metal alloys, it is suitable for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The belt features proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain, a ceramic mineral that enhances toughness and hardness, combined with aluminum oxide to create a harder, longer-lasting abrasive suited for moderate to heavy stock removal. This ceramic/aluminum oxide blend delivers superior cut-rate and durability compared to aluminum oxide abrasives, making the 777F ideal for surface preparation and moderate stock removal. Available in various widths and lengths, these belts accommodate sanding of both wood and metal on a range of industrial belt sanders. Wider belts fit wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels, smoothing metal sheet edges, or adding grain patterns to stainless steel sheets, while medium-width belts are suitable for edge sanders used on flat, narrow surfaces like panel edges. Narrow belts are intended for portable belt sanders for sanding or blending smaller wood pieces such as cabinet doors. The belts come with various flexibilities and splices; the 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F includes a film splice for added strength in high-pressure grinding applications. Additionally, L-Flex splices provide increased flexibility for greater conformity or softer finishing and blending applications.
