The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 2" x 132" with a 36 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by utilizing a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is resin bonded to the backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. This belt is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings made from stainless steel and other exotic metal alloys. It features 3M’s proprietary ceramic abrasive grain, a ceramic mineral engineered for enhanced toughness and hardness, blended with aluminum oxide for increased performance, hardness, and longevity. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making it suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation, with the ability to cut fast and handle intense heat and stress. These belts are available in various widths and lengths suitable for sanding wood and metal across multiple industrial belt sanders, with wider belts for wide belt sanders in dimensioning and finishing wood panels or smoothing metal sheet edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat or narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders used on wood pieces like cabinet doors. The 777F belts include a film splice for added strength in high-pressure grinding applications, while alternative splice options such as L-Flex provide greater flexibility and conformity for softer finishing and blending tasks.
