The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 2-1/2" x 60" with a 36 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys, utilizing a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures. The abrasive is bonded to the cloth backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure, making it suitable for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. It features proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain blended with aluminum oxide to enhance toughness, hardness, and provide a harder, longer-lasting abrasive for moderate to heavy stock removal. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, enabling fast cutting and handling of intense heat and stress applications. The belts are available in various widths and lengths, compatible with wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels, smoothing metal sheet edges, or adding grain pattern to stainless steel, as well as medium and narrow widths for edge sanders and portable belt sanders respectively. This belt uses a film splice for added strength in high-pressure grinding applications, while options like L-flex are available for increased flexibility and conformity for finishing and blending tasks.
