The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 3-1/2" x 15-1/2" with a 36 grit ceramic abrasive designed to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by reducing running temperatures. The abrasive is resin-bonded to the cloth backing to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. It is recommended for use on stainless steel and other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. Featuring proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain blended with aluminum oxide, the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend enhances toughness and hardness, providing a harder, longer-lasting abrasive ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation. This combination surpasses traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability and is engineered to handle intense heat and stress applications. The belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit different industrial belt sanders for sanding wood and metal, including wide belts for wide belt sanders, medium-width belts for edge sanders, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders. The 3M™ cloth belt 777F comes with a film splice that adds strength for high pressure grinding applications, while options such as L-Flex provide greater flexibility for increased conformity, finishing, or blending needs.
