The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F measures 1/2" x 24" and features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide to provide increased durability and cutting efficiency, making it suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. It has a heavyweight cloth backing designed to support high-pressure applications and performs well on heat-sensitive metals in both wet and dry environments. This belt is specifically formulated to protect against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys by incorporating a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, while the abrasive is resin bonded to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, it uses proprietary ceramic abrasive grain engineered for enhanced toughness and hardness along with aluminum oxide to deliver a harder, longer-lasting abrasive ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and intense heat applications. The ceramic and aluminum oxide blend surpasses traditional aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making the 777F an excellent choice for surface preparation on wood and metal. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, including wider belts for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and smooth metal edges, medium widths for edge sanders to sand flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders used in sanding or blending wood pieces.
