3M™ Cloth Belt 777F is a 1/4" x 24" ceramic 40 grit abrasive belt that features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide for increased durability and cutting efficiency, suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. The heavyweight cloth backing supports high-pressure applications, works well on heat-sensitive metals, and is usable in wet or dry conditions. It protects against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys with a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, and the abrasive is resin-bonded to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. This belt is recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings made from stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, while the blend with aluminum oxide increases performance and longevity compared to aluminum oxide abrasives alone. Ceramic abrasives are engineered for fast cutting and to withstand intense heat and stress, making this cloth belt ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation. The abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts used in wide belt sanders for wood panels and metal sheets, medium widths for edge sanders on flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders on wood pieces.
