The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 1/4" x 18" and features a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide for increased durability and cutting efficiency, suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. It has a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications, works well on heat-sensitive metals, and can be used in wet or dry applications. The belt protects against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys with a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, and the abrasive is bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. It is recommended for stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. The proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain enhances toughness and hardness, and the addition of aluminum oxide provides a harder, longer-lasting abrasive. Ceramic abrasives are engineered for moderate to heavy stock removal, designed to cut fast and withstand intense heat and stress. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making it an excellent choice for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, where wider belts are used with wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough-cut metal sheet edges, or add grain patterns to stainless steel sheets; medium-width belts fit edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces like panel edges; and narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces.
