The 3M™ cloth belt 777F measures 1/2" x 12" and features a ceramic 80 grit abrasive composed of a blend of 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide, designed to enhance toughness, hardness, durability, and cutting efficiency. This belt is suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations on wood and metal, with a heavyweight cloth backing that supports high-pressure applications and works well on heat-sensitive metals in both wet and dry conditions. The belt provides protection against heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys through a grinding aid that reduces running temperatures, with the abrasive bonded to the backing by resin for durability under high heat and pressure. Recommended for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings, the belt offers superior cut-rate and durability compared to aluminum oxide abrasives. Available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, wider belts are suitable for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough-cut edges of metal sheets, or add grain patterns to stainless steel sheets, while medium-width belts fit edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces.
